January 23, 2019 - YBhg. Datuk Seri Dr. Ismail Hj. Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government chaired the first Federal Project Steering Committee (FPSC) 1/2019 this year, with the Secretary General of Ministry of Economic Affairs (MEA), Dato' Saiful Anuar Lebai Hussen hosting the event, and JPDC as FPSC’s Secretariat. The steering committee meeting acts as a forum for decision making on all federal infrastructure and public amenities projects in Pengerang as approved in RMK-10 and RMK-11. Since its inception in 2014, there have been 73 issues highlighted and resolved. "International investors are coming to PIPC, and they are expecting international standards in terms of infrastructure, processing capabilities, and investor friendliness. This platform (FPSC) is an ideal platform as it is important to ensure the infrastructure conforms to the international standards, and is delivered in a timely manner,” Tuan Haji Mohd Yazid Ja’afar, Chief Executive of JPDC. "High priority is given by the Federal Government to FPSC, as it is responsible in ensuring the development and completion of infrastructure and public amenities projects in PIPC. The committee brings together all the ministries, agencies and government departments in one space, to ensure a successful execution of these projects,” said Azmi Monadi, Head of Secretariat, FPSC. JPDC as FPSC’s secretariat would like to welcome, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) Malaysia, Datuk Ir. Dr. Md. Nasir Md. Noh on board, as one of its permanent members.

Balai Polis Bayu Damai, in Taman Bayu Damai, Pengerang had their official launch, on January 17, 2019, in which JPDC was one of the invited guests to witness the ceremony. The newly built police station stands at 16,389 square meter in size, with one main police station which is equipped with 4 lock-up rooms, a five-storey residential block with 18 housing units, a residential home for the Head of the Police Station, a gated store room and a guard house. The launch was officiated by the Pengarah Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) Bukit Aman, Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd, together with Ketua Polis Johor, Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd. Among the notable key messages in their opening speeches centred around the strong presence of the police force especially with the presence of the newly built police station. Their presence here ensures the security and safety of the downstream oil & gas industry within Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) as well as the local communities are well looked after. “JPDC has been very instrumental in pushing the needs of having a police presence close to PIPC,” said Mustafa Akbar Reza, Head of Planning and Development, JPDC. He also added, “this launch enhances PIPC as a preferred location for investors. It is testament of how JPDC can contribute to the value proposition by highlighting needs to realize PIPC vision, the economic development goals both for the nation and the benefits to communities here.” Joseph Chong, Detektif Cawangan Khas, IPD Kota Tinggi, also commented, “Seeing Taman Bayu Damai covers a large area with even a larger community, PDRM has provided 150 officers working round the clock to ensure security and safety of the local community are well looked after.”

On 14th and 15th January, the Implementation and Coordination Unit (ICU) visited several projects that are facilitated by JPDC in Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC). The visit was led by Nik Shafiruddin Nik Shahar Shah of ICU, Jabatan Perdana Menteri with Abdul Halim Hamzah from Johor State Development Office, and M. Azmi Monadi from JPDC as it is part of their preparation for the Federal Projects Steering Committee (FPSC) meeting. The projects visited included the widening of FT092 Road (Package A&B), P2, P3 & P4 Road, New Drainage R2 & R3 (Package 1), Pusat Anak PERMATA Negara and Punggai Fire Station. As of now, 13 projects have been completed, including Kompleks LKIM Phase 2 and Klinik Kesihatan Sg. Rengit that were completed in 2018. "Given with the extensive coordination with various entities that we had, we are expecting all six packages of new highway-standard road network, two packages of new drainage systems, all three B, C and D-Class fire stations, Pusat Anak PERMATA Negara and SMK Pengerang Utama to be completed and handover to thier respective clients by the end of this year, subsequently to catalyse the development of PIPC," commented Faizul Amin Anuar, Manager of Programme Management Team (PMT), JPDC.

Pada 12 Januari, 2019, telah berlangsung majlis sambutan Maulidurrasul di Masjid Al Hijrah, Taman Bayu Damai. Majlis yg diadakan setiap tahun ini dihadiri lebih dari 200 orang dan mendapat sambutan dari 7 buah kampung yang terdapat didalam kawasan perumahan tersebut. Majlis turut meraikan golongan asnaf dengan memberi sumbangan kepada mereka pada hari tersebut. “Kemudahan masjid agak memuaskan untuk kegunaan harian, tapi agak sesak apabila hendak mengadakan program-program seperti Maulidurrasul ini,” kata Siti Nurulhuda Ahamed, salah seorang penduduk di Taman Bayu Damai yang ditemui. Bagi Aminudin Dol pula, “Banyak bantuan yang telah diberikan kepada penduduk disini. Kami bersyukur kerana bantuan itu semua sedikit sebanyak membantu dalam urusan seharian.” Sebagai agensi kerajaan yang memantau dan menyelaras pembangunan di Kompleks Petroleum Bersepadu Pengerang, (PIPC) JPDC berterima kasih kerana dijemput untuk sama-sama menjayakan majlis tersebut.
