Malaysian French Chambers of Commerce and Industry Seminar 21 February 2019, Johor Bahru - Johor Petroleum Development Corporation Berhad (JPDC) was invited to a Networking Luncheon with Johor State Authorities hosted by The Malaysian French Chambers of Commerce and Industry, at Fraser Place in Puteri Harbour. Amongst those who were invited included, MIDA (Central and Johor), IRDA, Medini, JSIC and PETRONAS. JPDC was headed by Encik Abd Rahim Ahad, Vice President of Investor Management, who gave a presentation on JPDC and its role in developing Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC), as well as what are the investment opportunities available in PIPC for both local and foreign investors. “We are hoping to see more participation from French companies involved in the development of Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) especially in petrochemical & specialty chemical industries.” The event was a lively session of getting to know new players and getting reacquainted with familiar faces of authorities and players in Johor, as well as getting an update on the development in Medini, Iskandar Development and in PIPC.

MIDA Visit to PIPC 20 February 2019, Pengerang - Johor Petroleum Development Corporation Berhad (JPDC) played host to MIDA SENTRAL and MIDA, Johor when they came to visit Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC). The visit was headed by: • Encik Sivasuriyamoorthy Sundara Raja, Executive Director of Investment Promotion, MIDA • Encik Nelson Samuel, Investment Promotion Division, MIDA • Encik Shahzaul Jayawirawan Mohd. Yunus, Director MIDA Johor • Encik Shamsul Amir Azman, Asst. Director Foreign Investment, Promotion Division, MIDA • Encik Amir Hakim Mohd. Yusof, Asst. Director MIDA Johor JPDC was headed by Encik Mustafa Akhbar Reza, Head of Planning and Development, JPDC and Encik Abdul Rahim Ahad, Vice President of Investor Management, JPDC, Encik Adi Yacoob, AVP of Investor Management were there to greet MIDA’s team to Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex. MIDA came to learn more about Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) and how they can support JPDC in promoting PIPC to foreign investments. During the talks both parties agreed that there is a need to target specific foreign and local companies that are interested to invest in the downstream oil and gas industry “…as there are still pockets of area available within the PIPC area for downstream players. “ said Encik Mustafa. Encik Sivasuriyamoorthy agreed as he feels sharing of information between the 2 companies will allow MIDA to monitor from HQ the needs and targets of JPDC, which in turn will enable JPDC to continue planning, coordinate the development of PIPC. To have a better view and understanding to the magnitude size of PIPC, MIDA’s team also visited a few places in and around PIPC.

Visit from Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) JPDC received a visit from Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) to Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) on 12 February, 2019. The visit was organised by MGA to deepen their members’ knowledge of PIPC. As part of their tour, MGA had also visited 2 of PIPC’s catalystic investors; Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) and Pengerang Deepwater Terminals (PDT). “As a service provider, we would like to explore the opportunities here in PIPC for either investments or for collaboration purposes,” said Yusri Mohamad, Senior General Manager, Corporate Relations, Deleum Berhad, who is also the Team Leader for the programme. He added, Deleum also currently focusing on Downstream sector as one of the potential revenues generator. When asked about the development of PIPC, “..It is well organised with its infrastructures nearly all ready. For example, the dual carriageways are up and ready, which ensures connectivity from PIPC to several big towns like Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi and to Senai International Airport. I’m also pleased to note that one of JPDC’s top priorities is to look into the affected communities. JPDC’s efforts have helped them to benefit from PIPC’s development and not be left behind.” commented Yusri.
